Q & A

I stopped playing with my toys to answer a few questions for my good friend Higgins.

Tagged Q&A

I was tagged by Higgins to answers a few questions about myself and my mom has joined in to also answer the same questions!

1. Describe yourself in 7 words.

Tucker: I'm not sure 7 words is enough to describe how awesome I am!  Hmmmm....snuggly, protective (only of my Mom), guarded (with strangers), spoiled, obsessive (about food), sweet (but only to people I know very well), handsome.

Tucker's Mom: Funny (at least others think so), excellent cook, protective, impatient, sarcastic,  friendly, loyal

2. What keeps you up at night?

Tucker:  Nothing!

Tucker's Mom:  Major insomnia

3. Who would you like to be?

Tucker: Just me, I am awesome just as I am

Tucker's Mom:  Sybil, the extra personalities might come in handy.

4. What are you wearing right now?

Tucker:  I'm naked, because Mom was too lazy to dress me today!

Tucker's Mom:  Pajama bottoms with chili peppers on them and a red tank top. Hey, at least it isn't the snowflake robe!

5. What scares you?

Tucker:  Stranger Danger!!!!

Tucker's Mom:  Insects and my stalker ever being released from prison

6. The best and worst of blogging.

Tucker: Meeting all my new friends and getting to read about their daily life. I also love it that blogging exposes Lola as being truly evil instead of just a cute wrinkly face. I hate that it gives Lola a chance to slander me in public.

Tucker's Mom: I love getting to know other dog lovers that can understand the sometimes crazy love we have for these babies. I love all the new friends I have met. The worst part is not getting to actually meet all of them in person.

7. The last website I visited.

Tucker and Mom: My Haven Graphics (Mom is starting a new blog with graphics, which is why she has been neglecting mine)

8. What is one thing I would change about myself.

Tucker:  I wouldn't be so afraid and unfriendly with strangers.

Tucker's  Mom: To not have fibromyalgia and be able to get out as much as I use to.

9. Slankets yes or no.

Tucker:  Yes! I'm all for anything that keeps my little naked self warm. Plus Mom and I have matching ones.

Tucker's  Mom:  Yes! But I wish Tucker had not shared that ours match, it makes me sound more than a little crazy.

10. Tell us something about the dog that tagged you.

Tucker:  Higgins is Mantastic!  We have a lot in common, both being so spoiled and all.

Tucker's  Mom:  I love reading Higgins blog, his Mom is so sweet and she understands crazy Chihuahua love.

So there you have it!!  A little about Mom and me, Tucker!!

I was asked to tag 8 other blogs...here is my list...

Now if you will excuse me....

I think I will retire to my man cave for a short nap on this rather nippy afternoon.

Am I Losing My Masculinity?

I have something bothering me. This "person" and I use that term very lightly, I did notice a lot of fur around his lips but he doesn't have those good looks us Chihuahua's are so known for and his ears are a little small so I'm not really sure what breed he would be, if not human. Anyway, he comes in here and thinks he is going to take MY place on the couch. I don't think so! If I go back in there and he has my Snuggie on too on we are going to have a major problem around here. I am questioning his intelligence too. Mom has told him I don't like people who have not been around since the day I was born new people and will snap at him if he tries to touch me. Sounds like fair warning to me. He insists I will like him and has spent the last two hours trying to pet me. Just how many times am I going to have to bite this fool before he gives up? I am a little worried though, most people give up and run for cover the minute I growl, this one didn't. Am I losing some of my machismo?

I had Mom take a picture and I think I still have it. I mean, I look pretty big and bad to me. But could I just be a legend in my own mind?

Then she goes and captures this. My softer, more feminine side.

Oh God Mom, did you have to catch Lola's Boy baby talking to me too? You're ruining my reputation!

My friend Lady Godiva and Seizures

Please everyone keep my friend Lady Godiva in your thoughts and prayers, her Mommy almost lost her this weekend. After a very scary weekend her vet discovered that she has seizures like I do. But she is on medicine and doing better now, so please send some juju her way. Sometimes it takes a while for us little ones to bounce back but I just know my brave friend Godiva is going to be back to normal in two shakes of a chihuahua tail. My Mom remembers all to well those first seizures I had and how scared she was. It took them a lot longer to figure out what was going on with me because my seizures don't present with the typical symptoms. I don't lose control of my bowels or bladder, I don't lose consciousness (I just get a little dazed) and I don't have jerky movements.  With my first one I was wobbly and just a little shaky. With the second one I couldn't stand and my mouth looked a little one sided and again I was shaky. Then with the third one I had all of the above but this time I got very stiff and had horrible shakes, but still no jerking.  Finally my vet figured out what was going on and started me on Phenobarbital which for me turned out to be a wonder drug. My seizures are now controlled and I only have one about every 8 months or so and they are never as bad as those first ones were. This bothered Mom at first because she thought the medicine was going to get rid of them completely, her excuse for this lapse in judgement is they didn't teach veterinarian care when she was in nursing school back in the 1800's. But my vet was great and explained to her that I might still have a few seizures from time to time but they would be further apart and very mild if the medication was doing it's job. I had a mild seizure last night. I always want my Mom or Lola's Boy to hold me close when the shaking starts so they wrap my blankie around me and lay very, very close to me. They whisper softly in my ear and this reassures me. If they are not there when it starts I will even crawl (because I can't walk when having a seizure) until I find one of them. They always drop what they are doing and snuggle up with me until it is over. Now that I am on my medicine the length of the seizure is a lot shorter and I am fully aware of what is going on around me.  I am not as shaky but I still get rigid and can't walk for a few minutes and my skin (I am a naked chi and have very little fur) flushes red. Sometimes my skin will stay flushed for a couple of hours even, this is one symptom the vet still hasn't figured out but since it causes no problem we just live with it. Even after all this time Mom's heart still skips a beat every time I have a seizure, she says she will never get use to them but we have all learned to live with them.

This is Truffle, Lady Godiva and Coco The Princess, aren't they a beautiful family? Godiva is the cutie in the middle soaking up some sisterly love.

This was me last night after my seizure:
At first I want to rest for a few minutes.

Then I slowly start to perk up.

Not quite ready to get up and around yet.

Just going to lay here until the dizziness passes.

Wait...did someone go into the kitchen?

I'm pretty sure I hear movement in the kitchen...

Who is in there?

Yes, definitely someone is in the kitchen and they are getting cheese! I don't have time for this seizure mess when cheese is involved. Uhhhh.... you are bringing some in here for me, aren't you?

If I roll over and look really cute maybe they will bring the cheese to me...

Uhhh...excuse me...you DO see me laying here all cute and stuff, don't you? Just waiting on my cheese and if you have a few minutes a belly rub would be nice too.

Stranger Danger!

It's been a long weekend for me. I don't like different people in my house and it makes me so tired barking at them. But I have to since Lola isn't smart enough to realize there is stranger danger everywhere. Someday someone is going to kidnap that girl, drive her into the woods and leave her. I on the other hand will be home safe and sound because I know not to trust anyone that hasn't lived in this house for the whole of my six years of life. Stranger danger is nothing to play around with!

Other than the people I had a good Christmas, I got some new toys and Mom let us taste a lot of food. We all know that food is going to go straight to Lola's pug butt, I will keep my boyish figure. Oh...did I really just say "boyish"?

So I'm going to go rest with Mom for a while, we are both all tuckered out. Pun inteneded. God, I crack myself up!

Mom, are you about ready to snuggle?  I love the way my eyes glow all Christmasy red!

Is she ever going to get here and lay down with me....

I'll just lay my head down and wait patiently.....

Forget it, she is taking too long! She will have to wake me when she gets here.

You all did pay attention to my boyish figure in these pictures, didn't you?

Yep, She Is Going To Lose It!

Mom is getting ready to throw a temper tantrum. I know the signs. Yep, she is going to lose it. She is twitching.

It all started around 10 am this morning. It's Friday and she wants to go get groceries so she doesn't have to mess with them this weekend. She hurt her back so she told Lola's Boy that he was going to have to go with her this time and help. She told him this yesterday giving him fair warning. So she gets up and is all ready to go. No Lola's Boy. Lola's Boy is still asleep. She wakes him up, he grumbles and finally says OK. She goes on about her business. Lola's Boy doesn't come out of his cave. She goes back 30 minutes later and he has gone back to sleep. She wakes him up again. So as to not bore you with repetition let's just say this happened several times. Finally she pulls out the threats. Lola's Boy can't go anywhere tonight if he doesn't get up and get moving. Now this is of major concern to Lola's Boy because there is a new girl on the horizon. Have to admit she IS a looker but I fear he is going to have to enjoy her beauty on the computer screen tonight if he doesn't come out from the depths of his cave soon.  Apparently he reaches the same conclusion and emerges from the darkness, eyes squinting at the brightness outside his lair, scratching as only a male does after waking from a long slumber and looking in general like something the neighbors cat spit up. Then he does himself in about right. Seriously, I thought the kid had more sense than he is displaying at the moment. He actually looked at the raving, ranting mad woman and said "I have to dry my clothes first", so she tells him to put something else on. Dumbo does it again and says "I can't all my jeans are in the washer". I am trying to decide if he is just not so bright or if he has a death wish. Possibly a combination of the two. I can only assume he didn't notice her eye twitching when he said the first stupid comment, otherwise he would NEVER have said the second stupid comment. I swear that boy and Lola are a good match!
So the jeans are in the dryer, Mom is stewing, Lola's Boy is fuming, the groceries are waiting and Cinderella is going to be missing her Prince tonight.   And me?  I feel like breaking out in song:

It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

It's a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?

Won't you please,
Won't you please,
Please won't you be my neighbor?

Rumors

There is a rumor going around that it is going to snow today. I don't do well in snow so I refuse to believe them. Mom says we have an advisory on the television but I still think Lola might be the one that started the rumor just to terrorize me some more.

Thanksgiving is over and I once again have my quiet house back. Unlike Lola, who doesn't have the sense that God gave a retarded tree frog, I don't like noise and confusion. I usually hide in the bedroom in my crate until the coast is clear. I sit on my throne and anyone brave enough to come and invade my territory to see me will be subject to a fit that will make their toes curl. I did enjoy the food Mom gave me. I love food, any food, even gross already chewed trash can food.  Mom is always saying I eat like a junk yard dog. I don't think she means it as a compliment.

I did get new toys and got to see my Sissy. She is one of the very few people I tolerate. I even made friends with her fiance this time and allowed myself to sit in his lap and gave him kisses. I am a little disappointed in myself for caving in like that but he was willing to share his burger with me.  I admit it, I am willing to pimp myself  for a good burger. Put some cheese on it and I will even kiss you.  I also got to see my Sissy #2, she is my favorite one. I too like cats better than most dogs so we get along just fine. She is the quiet one and I like quiet.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are thankful for all our friends here and on FB!

Exposing Tucker...

Is there no place safe from that camera? I burrowed under one of my favorite blankets and settled in for a nice long nap. Then I hear that familiar "click". It's Mom trying to get pictures of Lola. This is an almost impossible task and she will soon get tired of fighting her and come looking for me. She knows I am a good boy and will let her take a picture. My intentions were to stay quietly under my blanket and maybe she wouldn't know where I was. She found me.

Slowly pulling back the covers....

Exposed!!!!

The Best Place For Me To Be

The best place for me....

It's raining and we have storm warnings out. Again. Mom is going wild cleaning for company and Lola is even wilder trying to mess up what Mom just cleaned. I think I will just keep my little bald self right here under the covers on the couch and nap. I don't seem to have the time or an inclination to deal with any of them today. Yep, my butt is going to be planted right here for the duration of the cleaning.

Blogging

Since Mom is so obviously taking a day off from the human race I decided to blog a little.  Ok, I lie, all I am going to do is post some pictures but I am really cute doing it!

First I get in my chair...

I think about what to write...

An idea forms and I start...

Checking it over...

Checking it twice...just to be sure

Satisfied with my work...

Ready to publish...

All done...

I Got Probed!

Yesterday was a traumatic day for me. I got probed. I had to go in for my yearly check with my doctor because of my seizures. He was very happy to hear how well the medicine is working and that I haven't had a seizure in months now. He also gave me my new rabies exempt certificate (that's when my seizures started, I had a horrible reaction to a rabies vaccination and now I can't take them anymore). He checked my blood and my heart, all good there. Then he says he is doing a check for worms. What?! I have never had a worm in my life and don't see the reason for a check on that every time I go in for my yearly exam. I think he is perverted. He likes probing. He grins....I wince....and then it was over before I even had a chance to try and bite him. He is getting faster. I have always managed to get him before. Not this time.

Me on my way home from the Vet.

After the Vet I get to go by Pet Smart. Then Mom took us for lunch and I got chicken from Bojangles. I sure love that spicy chicken! Finally we are home and I am so tired. I found the pillows stacked up just right to make a tent for me so I crawled right in and took a nap.

I really hate to get woke up from a deep sleep, I didn't even have time to adjust my ear. Mom says I look drunk in this one.

I did manage to roll over in preparation for a belly rub. There is nothing in this world I love more than a good belly rub.

Dumpster Diving! Oh yeah!

So Mom is a little upset with me and I am more than a little miserable. You see I went dumpster diving this morning while Mom was taking a shower. It wasn't actually the dumpster, it was the trash can in the kitchen, but you get the idea. The biggest problem with that is my size, at only 4 1/2 pounds I can't hold as much as I am willing to eat. Mom always says I would make a good junkyard dog because I will eat literally anything, at any time. She knows this, so the blame should really be on her shoulders for putting the food in the trash can. Sounds good to me!

Mom still hasn't figured out how I managed to get the trash can turned over in order to get to those two corn dogs. I'm not telling either, may need to use my trick again some day. I didn't just eat the corn dogs (Mom threw them in the trash cause she burned them last night) I also tore up some paper towels that had a piece of cheese wrapped in them and in order to get to those two corn dogs I had to "spread" the trash out a little.

She says she expects this out of Lola but not out of me. I never do anything really bad like She Dog does so this was completely out of character for me.

Damn, those were some good corn dogs, burned or not!

Do you see a lot of remorse on my face? Me either.

She really needs to stop using her phone camera and get the real camera out!

Trying to think of a way to blame She Dog for this....

Because Lola Has One...

I have been hearing rumors that Lola is on here bad mouthing me. So I made Mom put up a blog for me too so I can keep up with what is going on. Plus, it's not fair that SHE had one and I didn't.

First things first. I want to clear my name. I did NOT have anything to do with what happened at the Fire Hydrant club over the past weekend. Fine bunch of dogs in there and I intend to join them myself. Besides, I don't even know any Honey Badgers! What you heard was Lola running a smear campaign against me, nothing more.

Second, I like pugs, I like all dogs, hell I even like cats. I just don't like She Pug (aka Lola).

Showing my sensitive side....damn I am good looking!

In my FruFru sweater Mom made me wear.

Yes, she makes me wear these embarrassing things because I have very little fur and get cold easy. I also realize how ridiculous I look in them.

In my Army days, sometimes Mom gets bored and plays with my pictures.

I was caught stealing laundry out of the dryer.

I love my Mom, I wouldn't really bite her like She Pug did, I was just playing.

My adventures in the Arctic...What, you don't believe me?

Yeah, just Mom bored again. Although I wouldn't turn my nose up at a Peep!

Larry Merrill drew this wonderful picture of me and then put me in his book!

Cute again, sometimes I am so cute I can't even stand myself!

Confession time. Just want to get this out there on the table before She Pug starts running her mouth about my past. I'm not going to lie to you, I did some time in jail. Nothing major I got caught trying to steal a cordless phone. Since it came so close on the heels of the "clothes in the dryer" caper they socked me in prison. What can I say? I was young and those days are behind me.
